Hello, and welcome.
I’m Penny Price and I was brought up with aromatherapy. My mother, the now famous Shirley Price, began her career in aromatherapy in the 70s, by first training and then teaching around the world. I became interested because I was roped in to help fill bottles with potions and have never quite been able to live without it!
I trained formally as an aromatherapist in 1983, and after 3 years began teaching the subject. I am committed to quality in both product and training and established Penny Price Aromatherapy Ltd and the Penny Price Academy in 2003.
I believe that I work hard to be at the cutting edge of developing aromatherapy – in its practice, its developing curriculum and in how it is taught.
I attained the only research degree in aromatherapy awarded by Oxford University in 2001 and lecture in the UK and abroad. The Masters Degree in Education is entitled: Managing school environments: children’s responses to change in the aromatic environment.
I write regular articles for magazines including Positive Health, Aromatherapy World, Woman’s Own and In Essence. I have a regular monthly article in Today’s Therapist and at the present time have several articles on various websites. I am the author of Aromatherapy for Babies and Children. and am a contributing author in Aromatherapy for Health Professionals. Bookmark our aromatherapy blog page for easy access to more information.
I am on the council for the International Federation of Professional Aromatherapists. I am committed to taking the IFPA forward and to increase its popularity with both therapists and the public. During my recent term of office I have made several changes to the CPD monitoring process to both improve and simplify it. I was also voted to council as Vice Chair and deputise for the Chair when needed. My main achievement this last year has been to completely update and install the IFPA office IT with new computers and software, and also to update the website and make necessary changes to improve its look and accessibility.
Most importantly, I am married to the Revd. Dr. Robert Stephen who is also trained in aromatherapy. He is generous, kind and supportive of all I try to achieve. Our eight grown-up children are also a huge support and the five grandchildren are a delight and a joy to all of us.
