Description
Aromatherapy for the Hair and Scalp – CPD – 6 points (IFPA) / 5 points (FHT)
Diseases and conditions of the hair and scalp are described as ‘objective’ in their symptomatology, meaning that they can be seen. Because of this, many clients suffer depression, lack of self-esteem, and low confidence.
The Aromatherapy for the Hair and Scalp course describes conditions that can be quite severe, but aromatherapy can help many of them to improve and in time, to recover. We will discuss the conditions one by one, giving aromatherapy advice after each condition. In the appendices, you will find client help sheets on hair thinning due to various causes, including chemotherapy and alopecia, which can be copied and given to the client, or discussed during their treatment session.

What to Wear?
Students at the Academy are encouraged to be relaxed and at ease. For this reason, it is recommended loose comfortable trousers and tops are worn that enable easy movement and do not restrict the body. All loose tops and shirts should be tucked in to prevent ‘trailing’ on the client for practical courses. Shoes should be flat-heeled and comfortable.
